A horse will get fussy when they know you will feed them something they like better. Normally if I have a horse come in that is fussy, I will feed straight grass hay for several days until they start eating it. Then I will introduce Alflafa back in. If he still refuses you could add grass or forage pellets and some ration balancer designed for horses on alfafla. I personally don't like to feed over 50% Alfalfa.
