Organic crops have higher yields and are usually produced for less cost (outside of regulatory costs) than conventional. In many stores when something is in season, you'll find the organic version the same or cheaper than conventional. Especially if it's locally grown. The future of food to feed our growing population does NOT have to be pesticide-filled GMO. It's more expensive and we know a lot of these things are bad for our health. Many food system experts agree the best future of food would be the majority of the population eating food local and in season grown by small farms. Of course that doesn't fit with the narrative handed down by "science". But I hope everyone knows by now that most research is false and inaccurate. Most of it is industry and profit-driven - not a search for the truth.
BTW - my biggest gripe about GMO crops is the Round Up Ready aspect. I do not want my or my animal's food sprayed with a known cancer-causing chemical. The genetic alterations they've done have enabled them to spray insane amounts of glyphosate on foods to be ingested. Of course much of the media tries to portray those that question GMO as ill-informed, anti-science folks that don't know the difference between genetically-modified, hybridization and evolution.
