Depends on what you mean by "growth?" The hooves are going to grow down straight unless they've got flares, so the shoe can be set flush with the toe and around until it reaches the quarters, where it should be set a little wider to be more of a support for the entire leg, but not so much as to be a hindrance. There's really not an accommodation for "growth" since the shoe promotes abnormal growth instead of allowing for proper hoof mechanism, which includes natural breakover and wear.
