I'm a little confused

In navicular, the coffin bone does not rotate, as it's a condition of irritation of the navicular bursae. The coffin bone would not "rotate" backward, but it can sink at the heel, which is founder, whether or not the point of the coffin bone drops or not. So, I'm still kind of confused with what's going on here. The horse still needs to have his feet trimmed to deal with the coffin bone. I dunno. Scratching my head. How lame is the horse?
