The only way to stop hair growth is blanket and put them directly under lights for 16 hours a day. So the December cutoff, when we in N CA get 9.5 hours of sunlight a day won't make much difference to a horse when they don't get 14 hours of sunlight until June, and itís still cold and dark in Jan-Feb-March.
