Donkey as a companion for an old horse
Posted by MilkMaid on 10/7/2016, 8:50 am
We are now down to 2 Senior Citizens. One could not care less if he is alone, the other one has a hissy fit, if he is separated from his pasture mate. I was thinking of a mini horse, but my husband is worried about mtn lions, so we thought, 'donkey'. I'd like to get opinions, or experiences, of anyone that has donkeys, has a donkey as a companion, or just your thoughts. Of course, right when I'm looking to get a donkey I don't see any at any of the rescues, or on Craigslist. Oh, both my old horses are geldings, and I've heard it's best to get a gelded 'companion'. Thanks in advance.
Some days it's not even worth chewing through the restraints.
