Ha! Thanks for that. I'm not big on blanketing. Horses in Mongolia stand out in subzero temps all winter with their thick, shaggy coats. Horses in Montana stay warm enough, too. Even my horse had no trouble unblanketed on a snowy night in the mountains. But my old mare - BRRRRR! If it rained even a little, she was pathetic without her blankie! She'd practically run into it if I held the neck hole open for her.
Just remember that so far, no one's come up with a blanket that stops frostbite from rotting off eartips.
You do what you need to do and let your horse tell you.
