Therapeutic Lessons - Antioch and Surrounding Areas

Hello! I am a social worker and have a sibling group of four children recently placed from foster care into an adoptive home. The children experienced the worst neglect I have ever encountered in my 19 year career. They are also somewhat traumatized and have developmental, emotional and bonding issues. They behave in survival mode which means they act impulsively, without much thought of future ramifications or consequences. However, they all can be very well-behaved and have a deep love of animals. They are not so impulsive that I think being around horses is dangerous and they would have at least one of their adoptive parents present and willing to participate if necessary. I am looking for a therapeutic lesson program in the east bay that is in reasonable driving distance to their home in Oakley (Antioch/Concord/Martinez/ Vallejo/Fairfield area). I would be very grateful for any recommendations. The siblings I am most interested in participating are a six-year-old female and her seven-year-old brother. Both are able to follow directions and are the least impulsive. Their three and four-year-old brothers are likely too young and are more impulsive but if anyone knows of an equine therapeutic program that can accommodate such young children I am very interested in suggestions. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide me, and more importantly, provide for these lovely, needy children!
