The kids and I went through a long divorce and moved away out of state. Our horse is still in the Bay Area. I'm struggling to keep the horse, but breaking my 3rd (and 1st) grader's hearts is worse than finding a new home for him. They both talk about how much they miss him, even though they haven't seen him much over the past two years. My 3rd grader writes how "he listens when I talk" and how "gental" (gentle) his hero is.
Our horse is pretty special. He fought through a severe virus on his own and healed. He has been a calming influence on the herd and has always been well loved by the barns he has lived in. He has a silly whinny when the horses are being fed and can always make you smile. He is soft and gentle for the kids and seems to understand when you tell him your problems. He is a sweet listener. He wants to be back with his family, and misses us as much as we miss him.
I am sharing this to ask for help to move him out of state with us. I have set up a Go Fund Me account, and with BAEN permission, am posting a link for anyone who is willing to help. Even a small donation is very appreciated and will help!

Keeping and being able to see him regularly would mean so much to us. Divorce is a terrible thing, especially for kids who have no choice in the matter. It is my hope to keep my 3rd grader's hero so they don't can be close to their "hero" that means so much again.
It would mean everything to us to have help bringing him to live close to us. After all that we have lost, having him with us would be like getting a piece of our lives back.
I am asking for help with funding our horse's move out of state so that he can be in his kids' lives. A good friend offered her property for him to live on out here. The kids could see him regularly and we could afford to keep him.
He can be moved as soon as we have the funds to do so. A haul of this distance is approximately $1500 minimum. I know it is a lot to ask of anyone to help contribute this, but your help would really mean a lot. Thank you for your consideration, and God bless you for reading this. It really does mean a lot.
