We have a new young (6yrs) very mouthy boy. Literally everything he sees he grabs. Parts of this is play; some curiosity. His companion gelding in the paddock next to him play nipping day & night, or sometimes they just lick.
But when tying him up & close to his head, he'll turn back & grab at us. Tried most of the things listed in archives; still does it. Being worked regularily on respect issues, but want to get on top of this one now. Blocking, flicking, etc. hasn't worked. Not into pulling chin hairs!!
Once thought of holding a small spray bottle, as he's learned another lesson by giving him a quick spray, and that behavior has stopped. Know it would be awkward, but need something new.
