I had this happen to me months ago (horse not pony). Advertised as a "beginner's horse" (which I'm not), but wanted a really calm one. Seller puts in her papers that she'll take the horse back if it doesn't work for you to trade for another or sell him for you.
We had a trainer check him out, and he appeared O.K., but when we got him home, he turned out to be a huge terrified runaway, and injuries resulting.
But knowing I could never let her take this horse back & then selling it to a "kid" as that "beginner's" horse, I ended up donating him to a safe home.
Someone told me I could get my $ back, but to me, it was more important to protect a beginner. I wrote the seller a long, nasty letter, which, of course, did little or no good.
Heard later there were others who had been scammed by her, and she's still advertising these horses as "beginner", trail safe, safe everywhere.......
I'd like suggestions how we can spread the word about these people, since we can't do it here.
