He was wow a real challenge as he was a 4 year old who had never had a halter on and unbroken, uncut and had to be roped to be caught. That picture was taken five months later with my 6 year old daughter!
The ranch was some kind of sad thing as the breeder had died or something and it was dozens of ponies (stallion, gelding,mares, etc) running unkept on 50 acres or so!
POnies need the same training as horses, just people try to force them because they are small!
