wouldn't touch beet pulp if she was starving. Hated the stuff. Same horse would eat plain bute, ground up, not hidden or disguised in any way, just mixed in with regular feed. My thoughts - why make a horse eat something he doesn't want to eat (unless it's for medicinal purposes)? There are alternatives to just about every feeding plan these days. You can probably find something that will work as well that he likes better. For my old mare, it was soaked alf/grass cubes and Dynamite Pelleted Grain Ration, but she probably would have also done fine with rice bran and a calcium supplement.
