    I'd pass on the wheat bran and use Rice Bran

    Use Beet Pulp to Rice Bran, 2:1. You can use more Rice Bran if you are feeding alfalfa. Whatever else you want to add, and enough water to cover, will usually soak up in 10 to 20 min.
    Wheat bran can give a horse the runs and not as good for adding weight as RB.

    Whatever you do, always add the new stuff a little at a time. Better for their digestion and for fussy horses. The first time I tried beet pulp my horses acted like I was trying to poison them. By the third day they'd kill you for it, lol.
