mare was current on all vax before foaling. if not I would do them both. it's only been the past few years that they got away from vaccinating foals that were nursing, so there is certainly no harm in doing it now. the question is only if there is acctually a benefit while they MAY be getting immunity from the mare. so again, unless this mare was current within 30 days of foaling I would rather vaccinate than take the chance that the foal doesn't have protection.
