I have never tried clicker training... but I had someone that I was riding with comment that I use "thank you" like they used the clicker thingie when they did clicker training with a horse.
I don't know how accurate that was, since I have no experience with clicker training. But I do know that as far as the clicker thingie- I would be better off using something else because I'd forget it at home :~)
There are so many ways to communicate to a horse that he's found the right answer and that "comfort" place that I'm not quite clear on what the clicker does I guess.... I'll be watching this thread.
