Third for Forco, it's a probiotic

and really helps, I'd also remove all that molasses, he is old, and therefore must be assumed to be IR, so you are feeding, and he is pee'ing out that sugar, he can't utilize it cause he's IR... it's hard to do, but you need to cut DOWN on what he eats and go low sugar, high fiber. At 30, his teeth are likely shot, one vet described it to me as they are so small and loose that it hurts to chew stuff like hay any more, so they prefer to just stop... His voracious appetite is nearly pathonemonic for IR too, that is, when you hear 'THAT', it is nearly always 'THIS diagnosis' (like when you see chicken pox, it IS chicken pox, you don't need to do a culture... ) how much does he pee and drink? more than the normal 10 gal a day max? I'd feed him beet pulp, starting with 1 lb per feed, three times a day, working up to 3 lb per day if needed, three feeds per day (you can give up to half the ration in BP if needed for weight gain). To that I'd add 4 oz per day of flax seed, ground (either fresh ground or stabilized) which can be split between feeds if you want, but no more than 6 oz a day... due to the carb content. I'd then add LMF Low Carb Complete (or Purina, but they are so expensive), and I'd probably start (assuming he needs to be 1000 lb) at a total of 1.5% of body weight total of the LMF plus beet pulp (dry before soaking), so, split into three feeds that would be 4 lb per feed, three times a day.... plus his 1 lb of beet pulp.. then as the beet pulp works higher, that will bring him up to to a grand total in a couple of weeks of 7 lb per feed, or 2 % of body weight in feed. The only other additive I"d add is the scoop of forco into two of those feeds (two scoops a day) plus whatever minerals needed to balance the major minerals of the total diet plus any recommended trace. NO over the counter "shotgun" suppliments containing those... Dr Thunes is a great person to get to balance your diet... Drop the molassed feeds totally, no need to wean those off, he won't gain until all that sugar is gone and his insulin drops a lot... If he 'could' eat hay, I'd get it tested, and get a low NSC grass hay, or I'd use the Chaffhaye... but if he can't, then don't bother.
