You know I have read anywhere from 5-7 pound of feed max per feeding, so I went with 6# to be in the middle! Luckily/annoyingly he eats it very slowly over a period of hours, so I'm less worried about it getting to the hindgut undigested...?
Looks like 3 mats would cost about $2.31 per day, so still less than half what LMF Gold costs. Though there is the added hassle of growing it.
Since it's forage, he could eat it all in one sitting? I doubt he would though. I suppose I could swap one grain meal for 1.5 mats too.
I feel like there are additional benefits from eating grass vs grains too that he may benefit from?
