I just bought my truck and trailer last year. I didn't get 4x4, like you it was a matter of budget. 4x4 really upped the price, and I have been happy with the 2-wheel drive. BUT I wouldn't do it again. Just the concern of worrying if where I'm going is going to be muddy, what if I'm in the mountains and it starts raining, or if where I park the trailer gets really wet...I'd save up a bit more, or go a few years older. The hardest part (and why I ended up with 2WD) is that so many used 4x4's in my area had been lifted and off-roaded, modified beyond my comfort level. Good luck!
