He has some hoof issues that multiple farriers have told me will take some shoing to fix. He is lower on the insides of his front hooves than on the outsides (think of foal feet when they graze, the way their feet wear down if not given the proper attention). I'm not a hoof expert, but from what I understand a special type of shoe will encourage his hoof to grow even. Once he's growing even, we can go back to barefoot. He's not 100% sound (not in pain, but doesn't travel straight) barefoot and I was picking the brains of more foot educated people and they all suggested front shoes.
