Why do people think my barn is for sale??? Posted by LFFMariah on 9/17/2009, 8:23 am 69.107.51.5 How do these rumors get started!? There is a widespread rumor that our barn -- Leap of Faith Farms in Walnut Creek -- is for sale!! It absolutely is NOT and never was and never will be (we hope our kids will grow up to run it.) Yet over and over again we hear this rumor, when our trainers go to horse shows or when our boarders go to tack shops, whenever people hear they are from Leap of Faith they say "Oh I heard it's for sale!" At first we just laughed it off but now we are concerned because that kind of rumor is really damaging. You can imagine that new boarders do not want to go to a place they view as unstable, or where they fear no maintenance is being done, or where there may be massive turnover. So everyone out there HELP! What do you think I can do to counteract this silly lie? You would think the mere absence of a FOR SALE listing anywhere would be enough to make it die down but apparently it's not enough.... Sad In Paradise, Mariah at Leap of Faith Farms  Post a Response

Is there another place with a similar name? If you put any energy into it, it almost validates the rumors. People can see that the place is well run and the horses/clients are well taken care of (Having been there). While I was a saddle fitter, I went all over and never heard that rumor. I did hear from other professionals not to cross you ! That is a good rep to have :-)  Post a Response

I have heard thru many people over the years that it was the plan to turn it in to a winery. Part of the problem was lack of horse knowledge and marketing skills. And I think it is now unfortunately true since they have not been able to bring in boarders.  Post a Response
