great trail rides

we had a great time visiting with several folks during the last week with the CSHA. Had the priveledge of guiding a few groups on trail rides. Jim also came to the rescue with shoeing.
There is still time to come camp and ride up at Silver Lake.
They are closing Sept 18th tho, we will be up at our camp guiding and trail riding until the end of Oct if you want to join us!

Is it open? I would love to do that one again. Not for the faint of heart but the views are incredible.

I did that one about 25 years ago on a big horse! We had trouble fitting in some spots, but it was awesome. I hope to get up there for some day rides between now the end of October. Do you know when the gate will be closed for the year? I rode out by Blue Lakes yesterday. Another nice area.

How to get there? Camping set up? Water (even if creek nearby?
I have heard about it in the past but when I googled it there was only info about camping with people and official sites.

I've only been to the area tiwce, Sunday for a day ride and last October to camp. I'm going camping up there again this October. There are no amenities at the camp spot, no running water or bathrooms. But, a nice creek in the meadow for the horses. Its a very pretty area.

The area is off Blue Lakes Road off of highway 88, almost to where 89 comes in from the north. Blue Lakes Road is to the south off of highway 88.
