I have a gelding who has recently started getting a shoe boil on his right elbow. Any suggestions as to prevent this? Anyone tried the shoe boil ring?

I would use the ring for a few months to see if it works before even considering any other treatment. Once they have them they are prone to re-occure. The doughnut doesn't bother them in the least.
