Ariats run small?

I have a pair of the Ariat 57405 zipper paddock boots. They are a bit tight on me. These are a size 8.5 and I normally wear an 8.

I did get them at a consignment shop so I'm wondering how true the size is. Maybe they got wet a lot and shrunk or ???

I really like these boots and am wondering how the sizes run.

I find that they run narrow for my feet. I usualy need to go up ahalf size for a good fit.

I have an old pair that fits true to size, but ordered a new pair this year that I had to send back as they were way too narrow.

I think the narrowness is the problem for me. Yet, I saw a kid try on boots today that were a 1/2 size larger than her normal and they fit, so maybe there is a sizing issue.

they fit OK, but the regular size run half a size small on me...

The zip ups were really tight....and I couldn't get them closed around my ankle at all...

Actually, I just sent a pic and email to Ariat last week...showing them that I have been a loyal customer - had 9 pairs of boots in it... the older ones fit and held up great.
But I have 2 pair of newer ones that are too tight...and one pair of fairly new ones which totally broke down at the inside heel and I can't wear them. I am very unhappy and asked them if they would be willing to cover the cost for 2 pairs...
I have not heard back... bummer...
it really does seem like they are making them different than before - more narrow and less sturdy/quality.
Shuckls - I have an older pair that were totally soaked when the roof of the tack room blew off...have been covered in wet cow crap and in creeks - and still fit well....
but the newer ones which have been babied - feel awful...
I dunno... I did try Justin bent rail on - they felt very nice and very roomy and are aroudn 150 bux.... I am actually thinking abotu jumping ship
