New owners of Saratoga stables?

I heard that Saratoga stables is now being run by someone else. Anyone have the details? Do they have a website or another way to contact them? Does anyone know about their board (rates, what they are feeding, etc)?

I believe Laura Thompson (http://www.thompson-training.com/) was training out of there most recently, but it looks like that website is down.

I think Garrods has owned the actual "Saratoga Stables" facility for a couple years now.

Actually Garrods was leasing it from the owner (Alex) but then Laura Thompson leased it directly from Alex for the last couple years. I know that Laura Thompson is no longer there but I don't know who owns (or runs) the facility now? The person I spoke to had met the new people but could not give me any details except that the new people seem nice...........

Actually Garrods had been leasing and then sub-leasing. The property has always been owned by a couple who now lives out of state. Laura Thompson up and left about 3 or 4 weeks ago with outstanding bills and left all her clients on the lurch.

A friend went over and talked to the new people- its a couple and I have heard they are very nice people.

I board at Garrods, worked for them for many years and am neutral to the situation- I am just conveying confirmed information.

It had a For Sale sign up when we were there six or seven years ago (before Laura ran it). The owners have been trying to sell it for many years. I know there were complications with building permits, so maybe that's why it has been difficult to sell. There was a landslide on the property too....that was before we were there though.

Actually, The person who originally started Saratoga Stables was Tamara Guercio. She and some friends were the ones who erected the pole barn after the mud slide. She leased the property from Alex for a couple of years before the county came in and kicked her out of the managers unit where she was living. She was forced to let the lease go due to financial reasons in relation to being evicted. She then called Jan Garrod and he sub leased it from alex. I would love to see Tamara take the barn back over and run it again the way it was� I�m just sayen!

Tamara got it all going......lots of blood sweat and tears went into that place! I was one of her first boarders.....before the mare motel ever went up.

I couldn't find any info on the web about it being for sale.

Hi Everyone, Saratoga Stables is now Saratoga Equestrian with renovations and great new footing in arena. Laura is gone and new trainer is availible. Still taking boarders and offer training call (408)218-5688

The property is in escrow and the new website is not working yet, been very very busy with the renovations and clean up of the facility. When it is it will be at www.saratogaequestriancenter.com
