CUT!

An easy one... You have a 5 by 3 rectangular cardboard. You need a 4 by 4 rectangular cardboard with a 1 by 1 square cut out (empty) at the center. How many cuts (minimum) do you need (cutting the 5 by 3) in order to re-assemble the pieces to form what you need?
