I agree it is hard to get straight with such a long explanation. Here is a 12 team solution. I cannot find the 13 team solution.
The first column is any given team, and the remaining 4 columns are that team's opponents. For example, reading the first line, you can see that Team 1 plays teams 2, 3, 4, and 5. Similarly, from the last line you can read that team 12 plays teams 3, 6, 7, and 10. In this second example, teams 3, 6, 7, 10 "share" team 12 as an opponent and are thus "connected" to each other.
It is difficult to get it to appear correctly as it does in Excel.
Team Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Game 4
1 2 3 4 5
2 1 5 10 11
3 1 4 7 12
4 1 3 8 9
5 1 2 6 9
6 5 7 9 12
7 3 6 11 12
8 4 9 10 11
9 4 5 6 8
10 2 8 11 12
11 2 7 8 10
12 3 6 7 10
