For matrix multiplication and/or Markov chain lovers.
a) In California if it rains today the probabilities for tomorrows weather are:
rainy (.05), sunny (.90), cloudy (.05)
If it's sunny today probabilities for tomorrow are:
rainy (.01), sunny (.95), cloudy (.04)
If it's cloudy today probabilities for tomorrow are:
rainy (.1), sunny (.85), cloudy (.05)
b) In England if it rains today the probabilities for tomorrows weather are:
rainy (.95), sunny (.01), cloudy (.04)
If it's sunny today probabilities for tomorrow are:
rainy (.80), sunny (.1), cloudy (.1)
If it's cloudy today probabilities for tomorrow are:
rainy (.9), sunny (.02), cloudy (.08)
For both places, if it is raining at 12 a.m. today, what is the probability it will be sunny a week from now.
