Maurine, I think the period episodes would have been improved if someone of your mastery had been consulted first! Sure, the liberties they took were all in fun, but it's still bad history.
Sadly, too much of what I know about bygone eras is stuff I picked up from TV fiction. I'm glad when you put us wise to the proper details, because it un-mis-educates me. It would be great if you'd put together a Harpies page that analyzes period episodes -- what they got right or wrong, fun side facts, etc. Wouldn't that be cool?
