I just read that Liz was the reason we never got an 'in-character' BW reunion in the 1980s.
I think she made the right call. It wouldn't have worked without Agnes Moorehead and Dick York's health was extremely poor by then. Also would they have brought back Erin Murphy or gone for some flavor of the month starlet to play Tabitha in order to boost ratings?
She was always against a Bewitched reunion in the 80s, as she felt that they couldn't do it any better than it was already done.
However, I believe in the early 90s she considered making a cameo in a new Bewitched series. There was an interview in People magazine that talked about it; there was even word of Dame Edna as Endora, though I don't know if that was a serious suggestion or not. The new series would have taken place in London and Samantha would have been in only the pilot, then a new witch would be the central character. The series would have been tied to the Bewitched universe, but not a reunion or remake.
If Herbie or Erin is still around, they could probably provide more information on this.
