Could the cavemen pull off a blockbuster trade prior to next week's BFL draft? Sources close to the team say talks are underway. And they involve projected All World QB, Daunte Culpepper.
Daunte told this reporter that he has no knowledge of any trade talks and is concentrating on the season opener against the Woodchucks. "I'm ready even though I have no idea who I'll be throwin' to, now that Q is gone."
Team officials are tight lipped but we do know that team owner Gene Bell was recently in Toledo and spent time around the wilderness campfire complaining about the teams history of retainees. The teams has never had three top quality retainees.
This year expectations were high. Culpepper, last years' 2nd team All-BFL QB, (2nd only because of injury), Dom Davis, last years' Tony Bouie Award Winner, and either William Green, picked up in the Marvin Harrison trade, or rookie phenom Anquan Bolden. But now, with Bolden gone due to injury and Green ineffective and with off field problems and Neanderthal will again be faced with a difficult decision to fill the number three slot.
Trading Daunte for two or three quality players could make sense, or could be the first move in another sub .500 season. Stay tuned.
