Posted by T.K. If you look at the ad for the Safeway on 19th Street, you'll see that the store featured a "footware" department. Was this a limited experiment or were they integrating this into all their new stores in the mid-'70s? Obviously the idea didn't stick. I also love how they called the wall graphics "abstract pictorials" -- makes them sound worthy of an art museum.
