Re: Pantry Pride / Thriftway
Posted by Steve Landry on 10/11/2005, 8:12 am, in reply to "Re: Pantry Pride / Thriftway" 65.11.223.243|
Thriftway and even Shapiro's were companies started by ex-executives and store managers of Food Fair. They were secretly financially backed by the Friedlands (original owners and founders of Food Fair). And of course this financial backing came from some of the hidden assets of Food Fair/Pantry Pride. How these companies evolved or even who owns them now would be beyond my knowledge. There are quite a few other "mini" companies that were borne from the Food Fair/Friedland empire in those days as a last ditch effort from the Friedlands, company executives and some managers to further bleed Food Fair/Pantry Pride. Most of them eventually failed. --Previous Message-- : I'm not sure, but I think Thriftway and : Shop-N-Bag have some sort of joint : agreement. It might be some sort of : co-op. In Atlantic City there are two : stores that have weekly circulars with : both logos side-by-side. I would also : be interested to know if anyone has : more info. Thanks. Gary :
