Oakland White Front burns to the ground!!!

As of 10/12/05 the White Front store @ 633 Hegenberger Rd. in Oakland burned to the ground. The store was built as a White Front. It than became White Elephant. The last tenant to occupy the building was Home Base. The nearby Denny's and former Doggie Diner were closed during the fire. Demolition could follow the closing of these two restaurants since they smell like smoke resulting in an unpleasant atmosphere. The cause of the fire is unknown. There might be pictures of the fire on the local news stations for the date around 10/13/05. Local newspapers (Oakland Tribune, Daily Review) will have articles about the fire as well.
