Posted by Eric Some equipment has already been obtained, all from the defunct Buckeye Central Scenic Railroad. Weekly meetings are being held to plan the move of the equipment, clearing of the line (it has been out of use for 10 years), creating a business plan, working with ORDC, and doing initial track repairs. It is hopeful that the first passengers will board in late 2008 or early 2009. However, we're looking for anyone with a good attitude that wants to participate in this new opportunity. Weekly meetings to review plans, projects, activities, and other bussiness needs are on Wednesdays at 6:30 at the old Buckeye Central station. That's on Route 40 just outside of Hebron, Ohio across from Lakewood School. You can learn more at www.bassrun.org (a motorcar organization that is doing a lot of the initial work) or by contacting Eric Curtis at erkmancurtis@yahoo.com. This is an exciting time, and the opportunity to operate on this beautiful 12 mile track (complete with a wye, multiple rivers, streams, lakes, limited road crossings, and deep cuts) makes it one of the most unique lines east of the Mississippi. Come to a meeting and see what the hype is about! We'd love to have you "All Aboard"!

A new scenic railroad is in the works! The line that has been propsed for use (pending ORDC - Ohio Rail Development Commission approval) is the Glassrock spur that runs between Glassrock and White Cottate, just outside of Zanesville, Ohio.
