Posted by Noel Blagg on 3/25/2004, 9:18 pm, in reply to "Re: Toledo & Ohio Central RR" Just cruising the internet, looking for information regarding the T&OC, and saw your question. I don't have an answer for you, but might have several years ago. My Father, David Varian Blagg, spent some of his childhood in Alexandria. His parents ran a small store. He was then about 14 years old. (about 1928). In any case, he apparently hung around the depot a good deal of the time, and relates that he was occasionally left by the station agent to "mind the store" while the agent went off to dinner. He often spoke of this part of his growing up, and my interest now is to learn as much as I can about the depot, as I am considering an attempt to model it. I do have a couple of poor quality pictures, and I have a blueprint of the land/rail/depot/water tower etc layout; if this would be of any interest to you, i would be pleased to make a copy and forward it to you. Unfortunately Dad died about five years ago, so we can't ask him. A couple of years prior to his death he traveled to Alexandria (He was then living in New Hampshire) with my sister. She relates that they visited the site of the depot, now a railtrail - and while there Dad entertained a small group with his recollections of how things were in the late 1920s. Noel A. I was pleased to learn that the depot still exists,a fact also discovered while cruising - that time the internet site of Ohio train depot. I don't think that Dad was aware that the depot had been moved and was still in existence.
If I can come up with a color, I will certainly pass the information along
