I believe in Columbus it was the old NYC main out of downtown that runs parallel to I-71. There is an small street (alley) west of the state fairgrounds that is still named Big Four street. Look up the history of the NYC RR and I think you can find some maps of the big four, seems I saw something in one of the books on the NYC.
