Posted by Craig I'm glad you're here. I'm sorry to hear that you were bullied. What a horrible thing for you to have to experience. I'm glad to hear that you're OK now though - at least physically. NO ONE - as you said - has any right to do that sort of thing to anyone - for ANY reason. Bullies bully because of who THEY are - NOT because of WHO the person is they are bullying. [if that makes sense] Bullies are insecure people [like the rest of us] but they deal with those insecure feelings in a different way. They bully people in an attempt to make others feel more afraid [and insecure] than they feel. It's a lot like what makes a person a racist. If I feel like I'm 'nothing' - I might find some sense of value by making an entire race of people LESS valuable than ME. [in my mind] There is no logic to this anymore than there is any logic to why a person bullies. But people aren't always logical and that's where most of our problems come from. Most people run on emotional energy. They react emotionally to their life - doing things and saying things WITHOUT thinking. Unfortunately - many of us [those of us who DO think] get caught in their web. I agree with you. Bullies NEED to be held accountable for their inappropriate behavior. And in some places - that's starting to happen. Just this week - 16 students in a Canadian school were arrested for bullying and abusing a 16 year old girl. I thought that was great news!!
