I appreciate you taking the time to share your story. I am so sorry that happened to you. That must have been VERY upsetting. [and scary] No doubt you probably have relived that incident [and the months before] over and over again in your mind. I hope you're not wasting your energy trying to make sense of it all. Oh sure - there are always REASONS why someone [or some people] do what they do - but finding that REASON doesn't justify anything. No matter what - what they did was WRONG.
I hope that you will be able to move beyond what happened and accept that who THEY are does NOT reflect upon who YOU are.
