Please be as open and as honest as you can be!! :o)
Posted by g My son is very bright, honest, a bit type A, and cares deeply about other people. I have tried to teach him to stand up for himself and walk tall - we have roll played - focusing mainly on his tone when dealing with kids. We start therapy next week. I was hoping that he could recover and grow over the summer - but it seems that he is just barely returning to normal. He still has anxiety attacks - complete with dizziness, headaches, etc - whenever something "bad" happens. What else can I do? How can I send him off to school without the fear that this is going to continue? How can I arm him with the best defenses necessary to have a happy, healthy childhood? It seems so unfair and sad that I am so helpless. Any insight?

My son is going into 4th grade in a few weeks - and I am really worried. 3rd grade was horrible for him - he had his lunch stolen regularly and was pushed around quite a bit. It has taken a huge toll on him emotionally. I tried working with the school - but I get no where - they don't take it seriously and only suggest that my son get counseling. Nevermind the bullies - who get no punishment at all.
