Posted by Allen on October 8, 2004, 4:14 pm Over time, humans have evolved. They have evolved in appearence, from africans, to arabs, to splitting into two groups the whites and the asians. And then several sub-groups within the races. But, appearence isn't the only thing that we have evolved from. Our brains have been evolving also. During time, our intelligence has increased. Intelligence though completley differs from emotion. It wasn't until not long ago, maybe 100 to 200 years, when the human race evolved the emotion of compassion. I believe that absolutley no one had compassion back 2,000 and 1,000 years ago. Why were there so many wars back then? In places like Rome, your social status was depended on how many people you killed in battle. This didn't happen just in Rome, but it happened in pretty much everywhere else. Greece did it too. I mean really, think about it. Do you think that they had ANY compassion whatsoever? To slaughter people in exchange for social status is not what I consider compassion. I believe this was even happening in the 1850s also, ever see the movie Gangs of NewYork with Leonardo De Capreo? Now here's where I'm going with this; Compassion evolved into the brain not too long ago. It's considered perfectly normal for us to be cruel, as it is in the human nature. If you have the emotion of compassion, then consider yourself gifted. Bullies, and other people who are just cruel in general, don't have the new evolutionary gene in their minds. I've never experienced being cruel, because I have never been mean to anyone, but just try to imagine how the mind of a bully works. In other words, how would your mind work if you didn't have compassion? I could see how their mind works. But what about my mind? Because I have compassion, it' like I have a 6th sense because I can feel another person's emotion. Without it, I just wouldn't be myself.

I have a brilliant theory. Take a gander at it and tell me what you all think.
Now that I think about it, the title of my theory doesn't really fit that well. Or maybe it does? Because there are so many people that don't have our extra evolutionary gene within us, I guess it would be normal. I was planning on doing more research on this subject. What does everyone think of my theory?
