I know you don't like fighting, but I think the only solution to this is to take up self-defence classes or some form of martial arts.
1) take self-defence classes
2) make sure you don't tell anyone you're taking them
3) the next time somebody tries to beat you up, kick the shit out of them. Violence is the only thing they understand!
