I came across the Burroughs family info from the Family Trees section of Rootsweb when I found Norman Mason married to Maria Ailworth in Middlesex County. How do they tie in with the Burroughs family? My g-g-grandfather was James Norman Mason of Virginia and we are desperately searching for his parents. Virginia is a BIG state full of the surname Mason! We have located a James Mason from VA who died in Savannah, GA, in 1929 and is buried in Catholic Cemetery there. His parents are listed on his death certificate as Norman Mason and Mary Ellsworth (sic). We are in the processing of receiving the baptismal certificate (baptized a few days prior to his death) from the Diocesan office as he was under the care of the Little Sisters of Mercy and is buried in their plot. Do you have any more info that might identify this James Mason? My grandfather, James Norman Mason's son, was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on 14 Dec 1893, mother Zulia Allen. She apparently is buried in another cemetery in Savannah, having died at age 26. Our James never remarried; the James b. in Catholic Cemetery was also a widower. Any info would be appreciated.
