Many camcorders, including Canon PowerShot G5 X/G9 X, support for shooting 60p MP4 videos. Sometimes we need to polish these 60p MP4 recordings with FCP. However, 60p as Frame Rate is so high that some versions of FCP can’t handle with it. Some FCP users said when trying to preview Canon 60p MP4 videos in FCP, the playback won’t be smooth. It seems like FCP dropped most of frames.
The reason why FCP dropped frames is not only one. Maybe the version of your OS X and FCP is not up-to-date. Maybe FCP is not compatible with Canon PowerShot G5 X/G9 X 60p MP4 recordings. If Mac OS X and FCP are out of date, just upgrade them to the latest version. If the problem mentioned above is still existed, I suggest you to downgrade Frame Rate of 60p MP4 videos to 30p.
