Re: Real estate agency in Dubai
An illusion of grandeur and splendor. A brilliant display of propaganda by the UAE government. Nothing more than that. There are only two notable places visiting in Dubai - the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall Fountain. Let me tell you this right now: Dubai is an incredibly vapid and superficial city. It’s nothing but massive malls and shiny lights. I spent only a day there and it sucked the soul out of me. Considering 90% of the city was built in the last few decades, it hasn’t had time to develop a meaningful culture. It’s not like someplace like New York City, which developed organically and truly represents the diversity and beauty of humanity. There aren’t musicians on the streets, playing jazz for a bit of change, or historic landmarks that tell an interesting tale. Dubai is all artificial. Half the residential buildings are unoccupied as they belong to billionaires who live in one of their other two hundred properties. The laborers who built the entire damned city live in tiny dirty shacks under the brilliant lights of thousand dollar a night hotels. The weather is unbearable, a nightmarish mix of very high humidity and 100+ degree weather. Even the north, where the gold and spice souks are and few tourists venture into, lacks anything meaningful. It’s a bit more bearable as the architecture is nice to look at. But my god, I never want to go back there again.
