Camp Jeep is a great time. I went for the first time last year, and am driving this year from Columbus, Ohio. I will be going about 13 hours. We learned a lot of lesons last year. There is a ton of stuff to do at these Camp Jeeps. All of the follwoing items are based on what they had last year in Virginia, so there may be changes this year. They had hiking both guided and unguided, mountain biking trails, fly fishing instruction, tubing down the James river, off-roading for your vehicle, a Jeep 101 course set up where you can test drive one of their Jeeps, a remote controlled plane exhibit where you got to fly, and then have your pic taken, walking stick carving, birdhouse making classes, painting classes, etc. There is a ton of stuff to do. I don't think that there is a way to do everything, so you have to make good use of your time. They will send out an info packet probably the end of February with all of the actual things that they wil have down there. Also, The events really only run from 8 or 9 am until 6 or 7 pm. That gives you time to go into town, or hang around the campgrounds and meet people, and I would guess, stimulate the local economy. Last year, they had some events in town: they had a free movie screening from Entertainment Weekly, a Polo match you could attend and some other stuff.
