I took my Cherokee on the intermediate trail last year, and the only mod I had really done was a set of BF Goodrich All Terrain TA's. I would suggest having a good set of off-road tires on the vehicle. The intermediate trails are pretty rough, and tow hooks are definitely a must since last year, I saw them tow a Cherokee out by its front axle. Hope this helps.
