Posted by Traci This is another gift that I think is in limbo. I have not heard a tongues and interpretation for, hmmmmmm 3-4 years maybe. Unacceptable. But what can we do about it but press the envelope! These things have been earmarks of crazy or out of line Pentecostals for years (and obviously on this board, we are all as tired of "crazy" and "out of line" as the rest). But they are all scriptural things and it is very easy to show that the Lord encourages the church to participate in these activities. These "pentecostal" scriptures still implicate us all - especially since we know the truth. Pray in the spirit . . . Don't be drunk with wine but be filled with the spirit. . . singing with spiritual songs. . .interpret tongues. . . prophesy. . . If we don't go to church, let's find another way to build up the body with these things, like: Have a prayer meeting and practice tongues and interpretation there. Rent a booth at a fair and pray for people Decide to call one person a week and practice prophesying over them. Practice on those guys that call you and try to sell you a visa card - they want you to stay on the phone anyway - they'll listen to you Decide to give a word to someone every once in a while via email and then ask them if you were right on or not - decide that you are willing to take any answer. Go through the phone book and pick someone at random and write to them. We actually did that once you know! We just picked someone at random out of the South Seattle phone book. This was a prayer meeting. We prayed for 15 minutes over this person/family and each person wrote a little note. We stuck all our notes in an envelope and sent it to the person. Turns out they were a former AG family in between churches and struggling financially. They were shocked and blessed by receiving our note. We brought them gifts and groceries after that. They visited our church, but it wasn't for them at the time. But the church thing wasn't the point. We were practicing and God came through big time! I have actually tried everything I suggested except the booth thing. . . so far It is still very exciting to walk with God! Traci
