YOu're right Joel..speaking out in tongues is NOT edfying to the body..that is why Paul said to pray for the interp...WHICH would be edifying...and so the assembbley could agree with it...as Paul said.. I am not convinced that all spoke in tongues in this chapter however..ALTHO I do believe it IS the sign of the BHS, the only sign...as I think most of us agree... Jesus had told his disciples to tarry and wait for the promise...that took 50 days... So, I think it COULD be poss that some had not YET revecieved the BHS...whihc is another reason Paul had to tell theses folks to seek spirituals... I have friends who sought the BHS for well over TEN years, and never got it...and were made to feel less 'spiritual...' and they were beat up with condmnation that the Lord did not want them to have it...THese people are spiritual people..gifted in teaching etc...thye are used in the prophetic dance and worship... I know I am on a limb here...I agree Paul said what he said, that is for sure...that he thanked God he spake in tongues more than they all. OH< the word 'all', ok. got me. BUT could it mean that he spoke in tongues more thna all of the ONES that DID? not nec the assembly? now I am mesing with you Joel... shamaba la dadadadad thedyitgetathedididydohkononi...uh!
