July 20th 1975, I beleived and was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. They prayed for me that night while I was still in the baptismal tank - nothing happened as far as I can tell. Later that night after I went to bed, the Presence of God filled my room - I believe with light - but I had my head under the covers and my eyes tightly shut, and God filled me with the Holy Spirit. I did not speak in tongues for a few more months and when I did, it was not the big deal I was expecting. I understand that speaking in tongues often accompanies the infilling of the Holy Spirit... but it did not hapen that way for me. Scripture says that God gives us gifts according to His will. ~ Sid
